Administrative Core

The overall goal of the Administrative Core of the ACCN is to work with community and academic partners to foster and promote activities directed toward reaching the overall aims for each research project and program. The Administrative Core is working to accomplish the following specific aims:

  1. Provide research direction by setting the research agenda focused on addressing cancer health disparities in Appalachia, fostering partnerships with university and community entities promoting transdisciplinary community-based participatory research, and increasing student and faculty involvement in research on health disparities in Appalachia.
  2. Promote integration of the three ACCN programs (research, training and community outreach) with community needs and to promote interaction among the 5 universities and relevant external entities, including other NCI Community Networks Program Centers and the NCI Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities;
  3. Ensure operational efficiency for all programs of the center by providing centralized grant administration, information dissemination, budget data processing, and seamless exchange of information and services.
