NORTHERN ACCN REGIONAL OFFICE

The Northern ACCN Regional Office is based at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center College of Medicine in Hershey, PA.  Together with partners in the PSU College of Agricultural Sciences, the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute, and the Atlantic Cancer Information Service, the Northern ACCN seeks to measurably reduce cancer-related health disparities for medically underserved Appalachian communities in Pennsylvania and New York by developing, testing and disseminating evidence-based interventions that lead to community change.  A 23-member Northern ACCN Advisory Committee composed of researchers, health experts, community members, and clinicians guides and directs Northern ACCN investigators.  The Northern ACCN works with 11 community coalitions in 15 rural counties and health care providers to reduce the cancer burden of Appalachian communities.
