KENTUCKY ACCN REGIONAL OFFICE

The Kentucky ACCN Regional Office is based at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington, KY. The Kentucky ACCN focuses on the problem of cancer in Appalachian Kentucky, and develops, administers, and evaluates community-based participatory initiatives and draws strength from partnerships across the ACCN.

The Kentucky ACCN is comprised of researchers, community members, students, clinicians, and others representing community-based organizations and university-based partners. These include the Kentucky Cancer Registry; the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results program (SEER); the Mid-South Cancer Information Service; and the Cooperative Extension Service.

The Kentucky ACCN fosters community-based research, offers pilot research projects and mini-grants to communities, and partners with regional networks to target Appalachian-specific cancer health disparities.
